The Importance of Delegation
Most companies fail in their network marketing businesses because of their lack of effective delegation. Delegation is not just telling your employee to answer a call or to fill out some paperwork for you. Delegation does not mean that you give an employee an easy task; rather, it is about assigning challenging jobs.
The reason why most companies find it hard to delegate these types of tasks is due to lack of confidence in their employees. Delegation is very important for a business to prosper. Effective delegation allows you to trim down your tasks so that you can concentrate on the major areas of your business. You should have proper networks where you can delegate your tasks.
There are some things that you should consider in delegating jobs to your network. The first thing that you should consider is to decide what responsibilities to delegate. To delegate some task, you should remember that the principle of delegation is meant to encourage initiative to get the job done and for your marketing network to be effective in the operation of the business even without your presence. The rule of delegating these tasks is for you to have more time to focus on the things that can help your business grow.
Next is for you to decide to whom you should delegate a certain job. You should choose the person with the capacity to do your job even though you are not there to supervise. You should study your employees well in order to know the capacity of each. You should not give the task to the person who is less qualified. If you do, such a choice can decrease the status of your business.
Another thing that you should do is to have proper communication with the person in whom you entrust your business, and talk about the things that should be done and what output you expect. Explain exactly what works and what should be done and what resources are available to attain that output. After this, you should have proper review of their status from time to time. Remember that it is your business that they handle, so you have the right to know the progress of what they are undertaking.
With proper and effective delegation, you can have more time to focus on the things that need your attention. The important thing that you should remember is to choose the person well in whom you will entrust your business. Proper communication with them will help you to avoid future misunderstandings and ensure that their tasks are performed to the best of their ability.

Faded away are the days where the only ticket retailer you would be able to purchase festival tickets would be the venue box office of the actual venue of the mind-blowing show that folk were going to sit through. There are also now huge amounts of different ways for one to see musical tickets without even trying to move out of the solace of your own cottage.
Sport venue tickets for mind-blowing artists such as Alanis Morrisete are nowadays becoming harder & harder to see hold of. There are the big time online retailers like Timeout for which folk can see outstanding concert tickets for everything. Timeout is the most great tactic to buy tickets. The ticket seller just acts as a ticket agent selling the musical tickets that the client makes more for sale to them. One of the first ticketing trades to sell sport venue tickets on the www, Timeout now provide a big % of its big sport game tickets on the net, a little via phone and a % via its tons of ticket retailers.
Ticket resale is the act of reselling concert tickets for admission to events. All this is furthermore more normally known as ticket touting. One might often normally pick up ticket touts based all over the event venue before the show or musical starts. Be wary when buying from a ticket tout sometime they might well be selling copied musical tickets that cannot buy people into the venue. Log on and get your hands on Tickets from Time Out for events around London.
There is a redesigned service that is called SMS tickets. This is an inexpensive cost ticket system that delivers music tickets by txt msg (SMS) and print at home electronic tickets. All we have to do is bring your SMS or print at home electronic ticket to the event venue it may then get scanned & you are in. You’re saving dosh by not being charged postage & packaging service fees, plus the pop concert booking costs are consistently kept inexpensive. There are countless advantages to SMS ticket tickets; people get your theatre ticket sent to you yourself right away, there’s no hanging around for the delivery man or ticket courier. You yourself can get new musical tickets for free if folk misplace them & folk can get in fast, there is no waiting around for a steward to manually look at your music ticket.

I started my first manuscript during my junior year at Virginia Tech. I had a couple of characters in mind, a flimsy skeleton of a plot, and one pressing question. Where to set the book?
At that point in my life, I hadn’t traveled too far past the Virginia state line. And to me, the rest of the world sounded alluring in a way the town I grew up in couldn’t compare.
So I considered my options. My story could take place on an island. An obviously appealing setting. Palm trees, sinking pink sunsets, water as blue as a robin’s egg. And of course, glistening white sand.
Or what about Italy? A place I had always dreamed of going. Olive groves, the chiming of beautiful old church bells, faded stucco buildings.
I set my first few manuscripts in exactly that kind of locale. The only trouble was, I had never been to any of those places. And once I got past the generic descriptions, I found myself facing what felt like an empty reservoir from which to draw my story.
I had read the advice in practically every creative writing handbook. Write what you know. And I began to understand that they weren’t just talking about plot and characters, but the place where the story unfolds as well.
What I knew was southwest Virginia. But what could the rest of the world possibly find interesting about it?
Despite my skepticism, I finally started a manuscript set in a small Virginia town much like my hometown. This was the first of my books to sell. No coincidence, I’m sure.
How did I finally come to see what was around me and what others might find appealing about it? By looking at where I’ve lived and what it has meant to me.
The physical beauty of Virginia is indisputable. Spring arrives with its paintbrush of green. Summer fills the orchards with apples and peaches, thickens fields with grass for hay. Fall dips maples and oaks in red and gold. Winter lays ice across our lakes and hides our roads under snow.
Those are the broadbrush strokes of my story, but I believe the details that bring a setting to life come from the individual places that populate a small community.
From the Main Street of my childhood, there was Ben Franklin and the Melody Shop. Kittinger’s Drug Store, Brammer’s Five and Ten and N. Morris Department Store.
Ben Franklin was a favorite. After digging out coins for the parking meter, we would head downstairs to the toy department. The snack bar was also on the bottom floor, and I can remember the delicious smell of steamed hot dog buns and french fries wafting up in greeting.
The Melody Shop was the place to buy 45 rpm records - yes, I know, I’m dating myself! Kittinger’s for a cherry Coke. And at Brammer’s Five and Ten, my sister and I stocked up on five-cent candy which we resold at elevated prices to our cousins in the pretend store we set up in my grandma’s basement.
Country stores show up in my stories on a regular basis, and I’m sure their origin is the one owned by my great aunt and uncle. My sister and I spent many Saturday nights there with our grandparents. All the adults sat on stools in the middle of the store and talked, while we drank Sun-drop and ate Wise potato chips from bright blue bags.
Much of my love for the place where I grew up comes from my grandpa. He loved just getting out and looking at it. Bright and early on Sunday mornings, my sister and I would climb in his old blue and white Chevrolet truck and drive over to the local Quickette for the morning paper. We always took a detour of some sort, to check on cows, look at hay, see a pony he was thinking about buying for us. These were adventures, and we learned the county roads like our own backyard.
Pieces of these places have shown up in each of my books. I loved them, and I think that rings true with readers. I’ve traveled a bit since those first manuscripts, and although I may venture out in future books to other settings, it will be with a healthy respect for the gold in my own backyard.

Comments are off for this postProduct Life Cycle Case Study; New Products and Online Ecommerce Sales
Have you considered launching a new product? Do you have an idea for a terrific new widget and want to roll it out online to save costs? Have you considered product lifecycles and Ecommerce sales? What if your product is really successful and then sales die off? What will you do to get your sales pumping again? Well you can use informational selling techniques by educating your potential customers. But after your product has really run its course then what?
Well you need a possible side application later, if sales looked like they would peak out, that is to say if you ran up against the standard product life cycle curve and found yourself on the top or going into a downward cycle. Can you add something to your product and call up all your previous customers to alert them? Will they by the new improved widget model? They say it is easier to sell something to previous customers than to new ones.
Sometimes as Business Professors in top Universities will tell you it is often better to start another company and create an offshoot for the new product if it is that much different. You could start a new website, link them together and launch the new product just before you felt you might be 6-months out to getting on the top of the first product curve peak.
Thus piercing the top of the product life cycle curve with a hyperbolic perpendicular break out as it went from flat to exponential growth. (Academically speaking of course). To learn more about product curves search; “Business Product Life Cycle and Product Curve Online.”
But if the two products compliment each other or if the two-technologies could be packaged or built into one, then you would want to keep the same single company. Recently I had come up with a theoretic widget product a light for walking or jogging which used the vibrational energy of human motion to power up the little light.
It was later thought that using one of those knee wrap type rubbery devices that prevent injury that we could use the energy and point it facing inward. Thus making a secondary widget using the same electromagnetic generation, energy collection and using it to enhance muscles and prevent fatigue. But then we thought what if?
Well, what if we had the LED light facing out. The light would be switched on to send the energy to the LED instead of back to the desired muscle group during night time use and during the day it would allow the person to workout for longer without injury?
In this case study we see that we could in fact create a new product and we have more options such as;
1.) Package the new product with the old left over unsold widgets.
2.) Creating a whole new company focusing on the Health Care and Sports Industry
3.) Create a secondary website and link them together
4.) Sell them side by side on the current website
It was later realized after analyzing this product that it could be used for numerous other venues such as for astronauts it makes sense due to issues with entropy. It would work well for contestants on the famous Survivor TV Series? It could be used for athletes, hunters, security professionals and even neighborhood watch groups.
Now then should a website be built for each? It surely could be done that way. Or a website with unique sections could also be built. Or one could introduce each new market slowly to keep the product lifecycle fluctuations at a steady climb rather than play hell with quarterly projections.
Not that there are not enough other applications for electromagnetic induction LED lighting to keep this going forever, it is just that this one makes sense for consumers, healthcare rehabilitation, sports, space and military.
There have been many studies on the use of electromagnetic waves for organic growth so why not add another site for Health Care Industry Rehabilitation and link them all together as once the person is back in shape, well they will need to stay there won’t they? And for those athletes who work their bodies really hard, well for sure there will be times when injury occurs.
I sincerely hope you have enjoyed today’s case study on Online and Ecommerce Product Lifecycles with this real world example. Think on it.

My best friend is incredible! She’s one of those rare types who hangs on every word you say. She’s content to be quiet when I need stillness, even though she’s one of those high-drive types. All I have to do is call and she’s there in an instant, no matter what she was doing before. She puts me ahead of all her other friends, never fails to make me feel special, and is a redhead just like me. But she’s not a person, even though she’s sure she is. She is a butterfly dog; a Papillon.
When I brought this eight-week-old bundle of joy home, I didn’t know what to call her. I’m not very good at naming anything, so I usually just observe for a couple of weeks and let the animal name itself by its personality. This puppy’s name became evident in nothing flat: Tazzie. She whirled around the house, jumping up on furniture five times her size, zooming and zipping and totally charming me. She was, indeed, a Tasmanian devil pup. I quickly realized the athleticism of this dog and knew I’d have to find her a “job” when she got a little older. High-drive dogs, that don’t have “jobs,” will certainly find other outlets for their energy and those outlets aren’t usually things you would enjoy!
You already have a burning love for your puppy, but what is your relationship like? Does it come when you call it? Does it sit or lay or stay? From your first class, at your dog training school, your relationship with your dog begins to change. I will warn you, however, that anything you want to teach your dog won’t come just with a once-a-week class, even if you have the best dog training school in the world. You have to practice with them, just a little bit, every day.
Tazzie was a very food-motivated dog, so the fact that she got food every time she did something right made training a blast for her, all by itself. And this happened every day! Bonus! She made fast friends at her new dog training school, so going to class was fun as well. She got to where she would whine, as soon as we pulled in the parking lot, until I finally got her out of that car.
So now you’re taking your dog to classes in a place they love, and you’re working with them every day. During that time, you’re paying complete attention to them, teaching them to pay complete attention to you, and they get their favorite food as icing on the cake. This does incredible things for the bond between you and your dog. They learn to focus on you, no matter what, and good things will come. They get praised and fed, or praised and allowed to tug on a toy, whichever motivates the dog more, so your relationship can’t help but blossom.
Ever since Tazzie and I started training together, she has claimed me as her own. When my other two dogs want to sit on my lap, she’ll push them out of the way to get the best spot because, I am her property, as far as she’s concerned. I do give the other dogs personal time as well, but I have to put her in a sit/stay or a down/stay so she’ll let them come get love.
She is, by far, the one I can trust the most, not only because of her training, but from the bond we gained through the training. She never takes her eyes off of me, since we began at our dog training school, and it serves us well in the agility ring!
If you want to forever alter and solidify the bond you share with your dog, find yourself a good dog training school, for whatever discipline you prefer, and go for it. With a little time, money, and patience, your relationship will become a forever relationship. If you do, your dog will turn out to be your best friend too!

Comments are off for this postCreativity Management and Innovation Management Competencies
Creativity and Innovation are often used interchangeably, yet they are (and should be) separate and distinct.
Creativity can be defined as problem identification and idea generation whereas innovation can be defined as idea selection, development and commercialisation.
From the above, it is clear that at least six competencies are required (including one holistic).
Problem identification alone requires considerable expertise. Ask five people what the problem is and it is not unusual to receive six answers. Customers, sales, marketing, designers, technicians, finance and managers all have their own ideas regarding what the problem is. Thus any problem identification session should include as diverse a variety of people as possible.
Further, people’s ideas about “what the problem is” are not static. Their views change according to the information they have. The process of information gathering is the first step in the problem identification process and the good decision-making process. Before the group “brainstorming” session, it is wise to ask each contributor to research in depth their perspective of the problem. Thus when they arrive in the group session, their ideas and contributions are more mature.
With a problem to be resolved in mind, the idea generating session begins. This involves generating a large a number of ideas as possible, a large number of diverse ideas and a large number of novel ideas. Competencies in idea generation techniques are a must. For example, creative versus critical thinking is used - where ideas are generated without evaluation and then critically evaluated at a later stage, preferably in a polar opposite environment. Creative thinking is best done in an environment with many stimuli, whereas critical evaluations tend to be more effective in conservative, corporate environments where factors such as the bottom line have more gravity.
Idea selection involves just as many people as the previous sections. All must input their arguments if the best decision is to be made. Many more ideas are chosen than will actually make it through to the final commercialisation stage. The Economist (2003) stated that 3000 bright ideas are needed for 100 worthwhile projects, which in turn will be winnowed down to four development programmes for new products. And four such development programmes are the minimum needed to stand any chance of getting one winner.
Development is the prototyping, experimentation and funnel stage. The best of the best ideas are put through a stage-gate process where their viability is tested. There is a fine line. Keeping an idea in the funnel longer allows it to attain its potential but takes away resources that may allow other ideas to flourish.
Finally, commercialisation is the ultimate testing ground for decisions made thus far. However, commercial failure is not necessarily disastrous. Strategic, technical and other competencies may be learned and may aid in the success of future endeavours. Creativity and innovation infrastructures may blossom that help improvements in the product, process, positioning and paradigm levels. Ridley Scott scored an early failure with Blade Runner but went on to great successes later.

Comments are off for this postImprove Your Small Business Through the #4 Universal Funnel Law
Universal Funnel Law #4 - Every business needs customers or clients. A customer relationship plan further develops loyal customers and serves as a source for ongoing referrals.
W. Edwards Deming who is considered to be the father of continuous or quality improvement said “Profit in business comes from repeat customers, customers that boast about your project or service and that bring friends with them.” Deming truly understood the #3 Universal Funnel Law (http://ezinearticles.com/?id=92768) and recognized the importance of loyal customers and referrals within Universal Funnel Law #4.
Customer satisfaction is now a click away. Developing loyal customers who can provide repeat business and referrals is a critical success factor in today’s fast paced, technology driven, global marketplace. A customer relationship plan that is in alignment with the strategic business plan, the marketing plan and the sales plan and is consistently implemented and monitored would seem to be a “No Brainer” for any business. Yet, my 20 plus years of experience reveals just the opposite.
A recent survey released by MOHR Access of Ridgewood, NJ, confirms my experience that today’s customers are still experiencing poor customer service which suggests that the customer relationship plan is not working. The number one answer cited by shoppers at U.S. malls was “Not my department” closely followed by “If it’s not on the rack, we don’t have it.” I am sure that these retail stores have some customer relationship plan, but it appears that the implementation of the plan is lacking.
With many companies purchasing expensive software to monitor customer relationships and training them on how to use these tools, the challenge appears not to be the acquisition of knowledge and skills, but rather attitudes and habits. Michael Patrick, MOHR Access president stated: “What’s really needed is to get employees committed … to do their best, even when nobody’s looking or listening.”
To bridge the gap between your customer relationship plan and the desired results that you as a business owner or manager are seeking requires you to develop your people to be truly committed to your customers and recognize that their role extends beyond customer service. Unless, of course, you still want to do the same thing over and over again hoping for different results and you are not interested in doubling your results.

Comments are off for this postSeven Common Mistakes Made By Small Business Owners
Most new small businesses won’t be in business this time next year. That’s the cold hard facts. Though it is easy to start your own business, it takes a lot more to succeed in business. There are seven common mistakes made by small business owners. Let’s explore them so you can avoid them.
Mistake #1: Neglecting Your Continuing Education
You are the only renewable resource, besides your employees, your business has. You may be a master at getting the most out of your other resources, but how are you doing with you?
Today’s world is characterized by rapid change. Keeping up on innovations in your business and new business strategies is crucial for long-term success. However, most small business owners do not invest any time or money into developing themselves. The less you know, the more time, money and energy you will waste in the future.
Do not be satisfied to be “functional” in the software programs you use to run your business. There may be many time saving options in those programs if you take time to find them. Here’s an easy strategy that will take about fifteen minutes a day. Take your favorite software program (accounting, planning, contact manager, or marketing) and access the “help” menu. Now learn one new function of that software program per day. Fifteen minutes of your time may yield big returns in the future!
Mistake #2: Failing To Plan Is Planning To Fail
Many small business owners avoid planning at all costs. The old adage, “Failing to plan is planning to fail”, is true. Without a well-thought out plan for establishing your business, running your business, and marketing your business, you will waste a lot of time. Time you don’t have.
So, how do we find time to plan while we’re trying to run a business? Do the work in small increments. Keep a notebook handy throughout your day. Have sections designated for “Operations”, “Finance”, and “Marketing”. Make notes as random thoughts appear to you during a day. At the end of each week, take an hour or so and summarize the ideas into a plan. Place the actions that will yield the highest potential return at the top of the list. Start Monday of the next week by tackling the items at the top of your list.
Mistake #3: All Work and No Play
Running your own business is hard work. There is no doubt about that. However, without proper relaxation, you will become increasingly less productive. It isn’t the hours you spend at work but the productivity of the hours you spend there. Become a student of your own business. When do most customers access your business? When is the slow time of the day or week? If you are available for an entire hour that may only yield one small sale, you would be better off out of the office.
Take a walk. Talk to people along the way. They could be future customers. Join a gym and work out during a half of that slow hour. This kills two birds with one stone. You get healthier with better endurance and again, you can network with people who might be future customers. Join that Chamber of Commerce and attend those meetings! Join the Rotary or Lion’s Club! Not everything you do to successfully advance your business will occur at your business.
Mistake #4: Take Your Existing Customers For Granted
Remember the first customer you ever had? Remember the appreciation you had for them? Remember the little things you did for them? When did you stop and WHY?
Avoid looking after your existing customers and they will go elsewhere. Customers have more options today then they ever had before. If they don’t find your competitor locally, they will find him/her on the Internet. Ignore customers at your own peril.
The fact is without them you wouldn’t be in business. It’s time to make certain they understand how much you really appreciate them. How about having a special reception or buffet on site for your customers? What about a special appreciation day? When was the last time you contacted customers just to tell them how much you appreciate their business? A happy customer is a valuable business asset, now and in the future.
Mistake #5: Never Ask For Referrals
As stated above, your existing, happy customers are a major business asset. That asset can yield benefits in many ways. But you have to ask. Instead of spending a lot of money on your advertising, why not ask customers for referrals? Referral sales are the cheapest and easiest way to grow your business. “Two Men and a Truck”, a moving business, generated $150 million dollars in revenue from 95% referrals sales. That is a target we should all shoot to match!
Mistake #6: One-Stop Shop Mentality
Many business owners fail to achieve their true potential because they try to be all things to all people. You need to target your ideal customers. Look at your product. Ask yourself who would benefit most from your product. Once you have selected a targeted group, learn everything you can about them.
Change your store or website to reflect that targeted customer’s needs or desires. Speak their language. Find out where they hang out and what they read or listen to. Understand their concerns. Sell them solutions, not products, and you will excel!
Mistake #7: Neglecting Marketing
It is so easy for a business owner to get caught up in the daily operations of a business. The inventory ordering, order processing, data input, and more, can become all consuming. Then one day you look up and wonder what happened to the business.
Marketing is all about future sales. You plant the seed today to reap the benefits tomorrow. If you want a long-term successful business you can hand off to the children, don’t neglect marketing. Every month, set aside at least 20% of your time dedicated to marketing activities.
Marketing activities include deciding to expand an existing product line, dumping unprofitable products or adding new products, determining where your advertising can generate the biggest return for the investment, and planning your marketing materials. These are crucial functions for your success. Neglect them at your own peril!
In summary, staying focused upon these seven common business mistakes can save you a lot of time and money. They are also crucial to the ongoing success of your business. Stay focused on the future while you work in the present. Don’t develop work habits counterproductive to a successful outcome.

Comments are off for this postAre Online Paid Surveys a Waste of Time? A Review from a Regular Earner of Online Paid Surveys
Online Paid Surveys. A hugely popular way to work from home and earn money online.
The Quickest and simplest way to start earning big amounts for completing online surveys is to become a member of one of the more popular survey companies like Paid Surveys Online or Survey Scout. These sites will give you a comprehensive list of hundred’s of the biggest survey companies out there and you can join as many or as few as you wish. You can obviously not pay to become a member of these companies and hunt down the individual survey sites yourself and join up for free, but this process will take a very long time and you won’t know which surveys you are completing are legitimate, as in ‘will you get paid’. Be wary with some ‘Free Paid Survey Companies’ as they will probably spam you or are just out to get referral commissions. Those paid survey services are no good because they may sell your email and you would be inundated with Spam. By joining Survey Scout or Paid Surveys Online, you know that these companies have been vetted and therefore no risk of this.
Now obviously, the more survey companies you join, the more money that you can earn. You can earn up to $150 a survey. That’s right! Very big money for completing an online paid survey. Be aware though, that you will not receive the big surveys straight away. They like to see that people who request paid surveys are legitimate and reliable and will start off by sending you a few small ones. Once you complete these and they see that you are a trustworthy sort, then the big ones will start arriving. Online Paid Surveys are a very interesting and a very easy job. Anyone that has access to the internet and emails can do surveys online and get paid and all you have to do is decide when to complete the online paid surveys and which surveys you want to do yourself.
Online Paid Surveys are a fantastic way to earn online but don’t expect to earn loads immediately. The survey companies want to see if you are loyal and once you have completed a few small ones, you will be sent bigger surveys to complete with bigger paychecks. If you are looking for some supplemental income and enjoy giving your opinion, then they are an excellent source of income and fun. The popular Paid Surveys Online & Survey Scout are excellent as they have all the legitimate online survey sites all in one place, (which saves you hunting them all down and no getting paid by some of the more ‘dodgy’ survey sites out there), plus they have a mass of hints, tips & info. Check them out now and get your opinion out there.
