The Goat House Give Bed and Breakfast in the Village of Laxton in Nottinghamshire

Laxton is a small rural village in N. Nottinghamsire, going back to the Norman Conquest of 1066.

Visitors these days can still see the the site of the old castle at the edge of the village, and see the best preserved motte and bailey castle in Nottinghamshire.

You can also see the fine looking, and beautiful, Church of St Michael the Archangel which dates back to early 12th century and is still used today.

All the same, what makes the village truly individual is its use today of the Medieval Open Field Farming System.

This system is the last open field system in Europe and one can walk the fields yourself or go on a tour with a local, that we can happily organise if you want.
